When the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) needed to purchase new tactical armor, they chose Aardvark for the development and procurement of innovative tactical vests with specifications that exceeded the current NIJ standard. Together with Safariland LLC, Aardvark has delivered 1,086 integrated sets of body armor designed specifically for LAPD units including Metro SWAT “D Platoon”, Narcotics, Gang & Gun, K-9, and Fugitive Warrant.
When the Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) wanted to increase their capability to counter the threat of Personnel Borne and Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (PB/VB IED), they selected Aardvark to integrate their systems. These Escalation of Force (EOF) Sets consisted of gear to aid checkpoint operators in metal and explosives detection, roadside checkpoints, vehicle and personnel search, translation and hailing, and training for deploying spike strips.
As Vandenberg Air Force Base moved to enhance their ability to respond to an active shooter or hostage situation, the US Air Force selected Aardvark to design an integrated system featuring active shooter response equipment as well as additional equipment to engage the potential escalation of the incident. The system provided various equipment including ballistic protection, crowd and riot control response gear, acoustic hailing, and vehicle checkpoint capabilities.
When the US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) required a lightweight acoustic hailing device that could be personnel-mounted, vehicle-mounted, and tripod-mounted, they selected Aardvark to pioneer the device for their Psychological Operations and Civil Affairs teams. In collaboration with HPV Technologies, Aardvark produced the Ultralight AHD that featured the durability to withstand their special operations mission, Humvee and large machine gun vibrations, and a parachute descent.
In an effort to enhance student safety by improving their response to an active shooter situation, the University of Texas Police Department (UTPD) selected Aardvark to provide emergency response systems, consisting of tactical ballistic armor, plates, and helmets, that could be conveniently carried by campus officers in their vehicle for rapid deployment during a crisis.
